Worked on a platform to provide stylist and designers a way to connect on projects. Project was for Bea Akerlund (costume designer, celebrity stylist and inspiring creative) and her amazing team at WhoYouAre.
They had great ideas stemming from an indepth knowledge of the industry and current needs, but were not able to bring that vision to life with their site.
My role was take their insights and apply it to the redesign to create an intuitive and valuable resource for designers, stylists and showrooms.
CLIENT WHOYOUARE ROLE UX, VISUAL DESIGN, IDENTITY TOOLS PEN & PAPER, ILLUSTRATOR, PHOTOSHOP, INVISION
Create a place where designers can upload information about themselves and their designs. This includes uploading photos, describing each piece in detail, tagging and adding a location. Stylists could search the site for inspiration or specific items, as well as post details about upcoming projects, then communicate directly with a designer to have a piece shipped through the site or get a custom creation made.
1 Site content is user generated.
2 Designs vary greatly. From elaborate costumes to high-end jewelry, shoes or wallet. Pieces have a large range of materials and scale. The upload process and search need to work for this range of items and image ratios.
3 Bea has a strong aesthetic and cultivated appeal that needed to integrate with the site but not overpower it.
CATEGORY & SEARCH RESULTS
Created a space for featured designers that could generate revenue and highlight designers whose aesthetic best represents the WhoYouAre brand. Provides multiple grid views so stylists can view items as large image or small. Items can be added directly to their project folders and favorites or users can go the product page for details.
Left side filters slide open to allow users precise results. Filters are defined by the main category selected and are focused on industry terms.
